Katie kept singing to the song, listening to her iPod. It was Autumn, Katie and Matteo were sitting outside of the library. Matteo couldn't help but grin at Katie singing that song. "Am I the boy?" He asked her, pushing her slightly as they sat on the stairs that went up to the library doors. Katie rolled her eyes and grinned, "Of course not. Your name is Matteo." She said. It had been awhile, but she had gotten to the point to where she was alittle bit more okay with being near Matteo. "Ah, that explains it." He said slowly, looking out to the people passing them without even a glance at why they were sitting so low. "Explains what?" She asked back, pausing the song. "The song must mean you're in love with someone. Someone with a very old and not cool name." Matteo replied, chuckling.
Without even looking back down at her iPod, Katie played the song over again and shook her head. "The lyrics never said she stayed with him forever." She shot back. Matteo arched a brow. Katie was taking his teasing kind of seriously. Just like he was, but he was doing it in a more playful manner. "Ahh." Was all he said as they both looked back to the busy people. Of course they had no time for books anymore. It was kind of sad.


"Let's go." Katie suddenly said, getting up. "Huh? Go where?" Matteo asked, not getting up like Katie. She looked down at him (liking this very much) and put her hands in her pockets. "To the trees. I want to see the leaves." Katie waited for him to get up. Matteo grinned once more and nodded as he stood. "Alrighty then. Why not? It's such a boring day." The boy said, going in step with Katie as they walked on the sidewalk. "It's not boring. Just going by slowly. I think it's a nice day." Katie said, sounding annoyed. Matteo then patted her head. "Then it's a nice day, declares Katie." He said as if it were a book. Katie let a chuckle come out.
With the headphones still in her ears, Katie pushed the play button once more. She couldn't help it, the song was just so cute.

Matteo suddenly laughed. Katie looked up at him, "What?" She asked. Matteo shook his head, "I just noticed, 'She'd follow Tommy anywhere.'. You follow me everywhere. You haven't even complained." He said. Katie blushed lightly and rolled her eyes once more. "You're not Tommy." She said, acting like she wanted him to drop the subject. But Matteo didn't want to. "Then who is Tommy?" He asked, arching a brow. Katie laughed then. "You're kidding me right? I don't know anyone named Tommy." She said softly. Matteo couldn't help but asked, "Ohh, but you do, don't you? From our school? Wasn't he one of the boys who pulled your hair?" He asked, poking her arm. Katie hit his hand (not in a bad way of course) and grinned sourly. "How do you know these things?" She asked.


The taller boy just shrugged, "Well, I'm just saying. Maybe you had a crush on him~" He said. Katie instantly shook her head. "I didn't have a crush. On anyone." She said quickly. Matteo looked surprised, "Oh come on Micello, everyone has a young crush. I did." Matteo admitted.


Katie suddenly seemed annoyed. She started singing the song again, as if blocking Matteo out of her ears. "But he was wrong and honey you are too, Katie looks at Tommy like I still look at you..." But Matteo kept saying, "She was cute. Very cute." He kept going on and on about his little secret crush when he was younger. Even if Katie had the music up pretty loudly, she could see the words in her mind. That was annoying. Matteo was being annoying. She finally paused it once more and turned around on him. "Matteo, I don't care at the moment." She hissed, her cheeks a light pink color.


Matteo smirked, "Oh? Why not? I think it's funny." He said. Katie looked confused, "Huh? Why would you think it's funny?" Her voice almost seemed hurt. Matteo walked past her for a moment before adding quietly, "Because you did the same thing." For awhile, Katie didn't understand what he said. But as she caught up to him, she looked up at him and she put her hand on his arm. "Come on, let's get going. It might get dark awhile we're there." Katie said, not taking her hand off his arm. Matteo looked down at her and then finally nodded. "Okay." As they kept going, people looked at them and a few girls giggled. Matteo 'didn't seem to notice' while Katie looked down and blushed. It was so weird.


Once they got near the ending of the town, there we many trees everywhere. And they were beautiful. Katie loved Autumn for many reasons. It was calming and pretty. Katie's expression softened and she chuckled. "Hey, maybe we could have a lunch down here or something. Leo could come." Matteo suggested, shrugging his shoulders. Katie nodded, "That would be fun." She agreed. After awhile of just walking around the trees, they turned around so they would be back to the library before dark. As they walked back, Matteo said slowly, "You know Micello...They could have changed the name from Matteo to Tommy. You never know." He said seriously.


Katie stared at him and then started to laugh. "Your name is Matteo, not Tommy. Matteo!" She said, pushing his arm lightly. Matteo just smiled back at her, "Well, maybe your name isn't Katie." He said. Katie grinned, "Of course it is."


"Well, I'm changing my name to Tommy." Matteo told her.
"Does this mean you want to marry me?" She asked.


Matteo shook his head, chuckling. "Of course not. Spending every day with you?" He pointed out, grinning still. Katie shrugged, "We pretty much spend everyday together anyways." She said, the wind getting alittle harder. The leaves started to blow with the wind and tumbled around. Matteo nodded, "Yes, would that mean you would like to get married?" He asked her, really looking at her this time. Katie blushed and laughed, "If I ever got married, I would want to get married in Autumn. It's pretty then." She said, ignoring his question. Matteo shrugged, "Yeah. I guess it is."
